Thank you everyone and we hope you enjoy where we are going with v2 of our program. Still crashed.* MAIN V2 PROGRAM WHICH INCLUDES BNSF MOJAVE SUB AND BNSF NEEDLES SUBįinally! The wait is over! The future of train simulation has arrived! Yes, version 2 of Run 8 Train Simulator is now available and we could not have done it without the community's generous feedback and support over the last four years. So is there just like incompatible workshop scenarios bugging out the game that I can't uninstall.Įdit: So I just verified the files and nothing was missing. I've cleared my download cache and nothing. When the workshop content installed, it downloaded 100 megabytes of stuff, but when I uninstalled, it just said 0 bytes.
After that, the game crashes so I thought uninstalling workshop content would fix it. No workshop content was loaded even though it installed and so I did something that usually fixes that by unsubscribing from something and then subscribing to it again. Now it was working fine a bit before this. So I'm assuming its something to deal with one of the scenarios in the game. I also have noticed that in the bottom left portion of the screen, between the company logos and the trademark and copyright info thing, the game starts loading, and freezes when it says "Updating Scenario Database" and then crashes on that. I've tried everything except verifying files. Graphics settings are inside PlayerProfiles.bin (same folder as above) so you could try rename that too.

The only other thing that comes to mind is graphics incompatibility but I'm clutching at straws and I'm not sure how to resolve that. Maybe do this one before verifying files since it'll be quick. NB: on mobile, sorry I can't check the exact filename. If it fails to fix the problem you can put the file back. From the main Railworks game folder (old name for train sim), look inside 'Content' and rename/move the SDBCache.bin - should be rebuilt next launch. Since it fails to reach the menu, I'd also look at removing the scenario database file. This will take time especially with a lot of DLC and may be painful to reinstate 3rd party content like sound packs if you've built them up over time. Given that you mention a recent installation, try Steam's validate game files option (or is it 'verify integrity' I can never remember). I could suggest a number of things which are largely shots in the dark. It may in some cases be triggered by lack of memory, but not always.

If you wish you can search the error code and find it is for 'access violation' which is a programming term. And I've also seen people saying that reinstalling the game is what caused the issue.įirst, ignore the 'out of memory' comment - this is a generic error message (which I think prompts you to run the 64bit client even when you already are). I've seen people saying they had to reinstall the game and/or Windows to fix this.

So fresh Windows install and fresh game install. This is also on a new installation of Windows because my motherboard wouldn't boot to my drive since it had a Windows installation on it.
It's as if the game is using up 1 gigabyte of RAM and then crashing.
I feel as if there's a memory cap or something because in task manager, before the launch, I was at 6/16 RAM usage, I launch the game and click on 64 bit, the RAM usage rises like this, 6, 6.3, 6.5, 6.7, and then the second it hits 7/16 the game crashes with the Out of Memory error. This worked on my old PC with no error and no updates have happened between playing on my old PC and my new one. The system is unable to run this scenario on the current configuration, we suggest either lowering the graphical quality settings or attempting to run the game in the 64-bit version, if this fails to resolve the issue please contact our Customer Support Team at "

I've recently installed Train Simulator 2020 onto a new machine, my GPU and CPU exceed the recommended and I'm at the recommended RAM spec of 16 gigs, whenever I try to launch the game, at the loading screen before the main menu, the game will crash with the same error message and code both on 64 bit and 32 bit.Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\TempDump\
